Wireforce showed its support of the annual U-4-US foundation tournament by entering two teams this year. The aim of the tournament is to raise awareness around building a humane community and strengthen the bond between animals and humans. All proceeds of the 2023 event will go towards guide dog training. The event took place on Saturday, 2nd September at Zoo Lake Sports Club.
No less than 24 soccer teams participated on the day. Although the Wireforce soccer team fared well (won two games, lost two games, and drew one game) they unfortunately did not reach the knock-out stages. Just a friendly warning to the other teams – We’ll be back.
Many thanks to every team member of Team Wireforce for participating on the day as well as all our Wireforce supporters for being there with us. Special thanks to the management of Wireforce for supporting this initiative.
Despite Wireforce not having an official Netball team (yet) and having to gather ladies who haven’t played in years, the ladies put up an incredible performance and exceeded even their own expectations. Even though the team only won one of the 5 matches, they had so much fun that it did not even matter. Apart from sunburn and aching muscles no one was badly injured. Ladies, thank you so much, and well done!
